Q1: You've been stranded on a desert island with only one standard-size travel suitcase. If you could only have 3 items in that suitcase, what would you want those items to be and why?
[What an obscure scenario. Even so, she had to consider the practicality of the items brought. Of course there were other concerns, such as what was the objective? How much prep time did they have? Her mind swirled with different ideas and solutions, and eventually she would settle on one solution.]
"Water."
[Eyes closed as she subtly nodded her head. Content with her answer. Water had a variety of uses, of course to consume, but for someone like her, who came from the sea and complained often of the land air being too dry, it could really make a difference in her survival. Besides, if it came to defense she trusted her own physical prowess and keen mind.]
Q2: Tell us about a defining event in your life that you think influenced who you are today.
"I will now reveal some information to you. As Orapthy began to run rampant on the surface, Aegir had its own issues below the surface. The seaborn began to ravage our lands and not only threaten our lives, but be vying for the surface. Aegir fell into disarray, and a group of Aegir began the Abyssal Hunters as a way to fight back against the seaborn and safeguard the surface. I became a prototype in the project. A first Abyssal Hunter.
However..." [A rare beat of pause as a gloved hand touched a place on her neck.] "Hmph... the Abyssal Hunters share the same mutated dna and hivemind as the seaborn. Eventually, if a hunter can not resist the call, they will be assimilated. It is important to always remember that, who you are. What you are. One step away from being a complete monster."
Q3: What does family mean to you and who do you consider a part of your family?
"Family is not about blood. Those people who gave me life, simply did that. I didn't know my father very well, and my birth mother was a power-loving, indulgent and short-sighted person - short-sighted is debatable, but the first two couldn't be clearer. It took me a long time to escape my mother's control.
My relatives were the ones who identified with, supported, and raised me and my new family is not related to me by blood, as is the case with most Aegirians. By that I mean the Abyssal Hunters."
Q4: Tell me about a time you were involved in a personal conflict (not a physical fight). What would you do differently to resolve it?
"I was believed dead and used a subordinate as bait to infiltrate's the Church of the Sea's innermost circle of trust to gain information." [It was spoken so matter of factly, one had to wonder if she event felt any remorse for it. Maybe not, as everything had worked out in the end.]
"I withheld this information from another hunter, prompting her to search for the woman I had offered to the Church. I then allowed the Church's plans to come to fruition enough that I could understand the situation. It was then dispatched. Those in question were confused by my behavior and unable to understand my plans, but it is not my job to make others understand."
Q5: Do you have any regrets? If so, what are the biggest ones? If not, what is something you wish you had gotten to do back home?
"Living in regret would serve no purpose other than to hold me back." [Even still, she thought of her deceased kin, floating forever in the inky blackness of the ocean.] "My wish would be the same as all other Abyssal Hunters; to hunt and deliver the fatal blow to my prey. To safeguard the surface from the seaborn. I will not rest until that is complete, or I am dead."
